We must stop burying our entrepreneurs in redundant paperwork.</li><li>Protecting Local Roots: Growth should not mean displacement, we commit to supporting 'Legacy Resident Protections' incentivizing developers to include space for long-time local vendors and ensuring that new projects provide tangible benefits, like community centers and job training, for both new neighbors and those who have lived here for generations.</li><li>Future-Proof Jobs: We're moving beyond just "government jobs." I will fight to bring tech, science, trade and green energy companies to DC to create high-paying careers for our residents.</li><li>Universal Credit Transfer &amp; Career Pathways: We must stop treating workforce training as a "dead end." I will champion a Stackable Education Model that mandates credit-transfer agreements between District-funded training programs and UDC. By valuing every hour a resident spends learning, we create a seamless path from certification to degree, ensuring DC’s workforce grows alongside our economy.</li></ul>

D.C. should be the destination for the jobs of the future. By investing in workforce development and supporting our "mom-and-pop" shops, we are building a resilient, inclusive economy where every resident has a seat at the table of prosperity.

Economic Growth

<ul><li>Lower Rent for Car-Free Living: Currently, many renters pay for a parking spot they don't even use. I'll make sure landlords unbundle those costs, potentially saving car-free families hundreds of dollars a month.</li><li>The Legacy Tax Credit: If you've lived in your home for 20+ years, you shouldn't be priced out of it by rising taxes. I'm proposing a special tax credit to freeze those costs for long-time neighbors.</li><li>A Compassionate, Housing-First Approach for Unhoused Washingtonians: I believe that homelessness is a policy failure, not a personal one. I will advocate for a surge in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) vouchers and the expansion of the "DC Flex" program to provide flexible subsidies that prevent families from falling into homelessness. I opposes the criminalization of poverty and will prioritize the creation of 24/7 low-barrier service hubs that provide a direct, dignified path to a stable home.</li><li>End the "Utility Squeeze": I will advocate for a freeze on discretionary utility rate hikes for two years while the city conducts a comprehensive "Affordability Audit" of our energy and water infrastructure.</li></ul>

I am committed to aggressive housing stability initiatives, from strengthening tenant protections to expanding pathways for middle-class homeownership. We aren't just building units; we are preserving the soul of D.C. by ensuring our teachers, seniors, and service workers can afford to stay in the city they helped build.

No more being ignored. </li><li>Expand Holistic Resources: Secure dedicated funding for school-based mental health professionals and expanded after-school enrichment to support the whole child.</li></ul>

If you're in a crisis, the city shouldn't make you wait months for your own money.</li><li>Ethical Transparency: Launching live, public-facing dashboards that track licensing backlogs in real-time. If an agency is falling behind, the public should see it and the Council should fix it.</li><li>Real Teeth in Oversight: Implementing automatic triggers for agency audits and leadership reviews when performance targets are consistently missed.</li><li>Cutting the Red Tape: A dedicated 12-to-24 month "safe zone" for entrepreneurs and tech startups to pilot new business models like innovative childcare centers or green-tech services that don't fit into existing 20th-century codes. By granting temporary regulatory waivers while the city gathers real-world data, we allow businesses to prove their value before we update the laws to match our modern economy.</li></ul>

The speed of government is an ongoing issue in the district. It's time to leverage technology to eliminate backlogs and improve 311 performance. From permit processing to trash collection, we’re making "government efficiency" a reality, not just a campaign promise.
